Travel Like a Pro This Summer
Going somewhere this summer? If your travel plans are taking you up in the air, I’ve got a few tips to help you travel like a pro this summer— starting with reducing the stress of your airport experience!
Before you embark on that big vacation, take a look at my tips below. You may see a few that even a seasoned travel vet can find useful. I’ve also listed ways to track flight prices, streamline the security process, and more.
Summer’s here, the weather’s warm, and vacation season is going full on. If you’re like many travelers, you’ll be hopping a flight to get where you’re going this summer. In fact, estimates are that more than 250 MILLION of us will fly somewhere before school starts again. Whether you’re going domestic or international, use these tips for a more enjoyable, and efficient flying experience.
Find cheap flights with these apps:
- Skipplaged — This one shows you hidden-city ticketing options to get an airline ticket at up to 50% less.
- Hopper — This app predicts upcoming ticket price trends.
Check again: Has your flight fare lowered since you booked? Contact the airline. Some will give you back the difference in airline credit.
Skip the long security lines: Apply for a TSA Precheck to save time in line. It’s $85 for five years. If you’re an international traveler, apply for Global Entry. This $100, five-year pass expedites the customs process.
Not in a rush? If you’re in no hurry to get to your destination and you find yourself on an overbooked flight, let the ticketing counter know. They may offer you travel vouchers for giving up your seat.
Relief for long travel days: Head to the airport’s website to pre-book an airport lounge pass. You’ll get access to a quiet space with refreshments, Wifi, etc., and some peace and quiet.
If you’re looking for a travel planner or tour guide, just let me know. I’ll be happy to make some recommendations. As always, I’m never too busy for your call, email, or your referral.
